How Procrastination Can Ruin It All
The early bird gets the worm, or in the world of business, the prompt organizer gets their supplies for a discounted rate. That person doesn’t have to worry about missing out on a last-needed chair or having one of the staffers not arrive before the show because the plane tickets were sold out.
When putting together a trade show or other marketing or business event, there are so many moving parts that it can make your head spin. A responsible organizer must keep track of a myriad of supplies, from sufficient electricity to power their booth to the hotel fares for the employees to stay the night (or several).
Take Advantage of Early Bird Discounts
To encourage vendors to act fast, there are usually early bird discounts for those on the ball. This has been an effective practice in all sales spheres for eons; think about those commercials when you were a kid that told you that you needed to order the next best swimming pool for “five quick payments of $49.95”.
There isn’t a good reason not to be encouraged by the discounts you get for buying your show products at the earliest possible convenience. Sure, it may feel like a headache that you want to put off for as long as you can, but it feels great to be done and ready to relax until the event starts when you just get out of the way.
Repercussions of Being Late
Some people work great on deadlines or feel extra adrenaline when they finish something at the last second. Still, the money that is lost when you don’t take advantage of early discounts can be devastating to your pocketbook in the long run.
Because a trade show event involves buying or renting so many different items, the early purchasing discounts will continue to add up into the thousands. We already talked about airfare, hotel charges, furniture, and electricity, but what about everything else? Giveaway products, the rigging of the display, the workers who will put these things up for your business, the delivery people, and the cleaning supplies for the aftermath of the event—all of this adds up.
When taken as single charges, you may not be motivated to act early. When combined, anyone can see that they will be stretched tremendously trying to get all of these put together without some sort of financial aid.
The repercussions of acting late could even derail your whole event. Without the capital to go forward, your trade show might have to be postponed or eliminated. These sales tools are irreplaceable for any growing business to expand and soar to its desired heights.
The Early Bird Really Does Get the Worm
It isn’t a good look for your reputation and business if any customers see that even one of the above parts of the booth is slacking compared to your competitors. Being ready for the moment will always boost your marketing and the way you are perceived in any walk of life, especially in business. Don’t let procrastination be your undoing!
By taking advantage of early bird offers, planning in advance, and taking action, you will be adequately prepared for your tradeshow and feel miles ahead of the game.
