How to Create a Truly Unique Booth Space by Using What You Already Have
Anyone that has exhibited at a trade show knows that designing a memorable booth can be intimidating and expensive. But you don’t have to throw money at your booth to have an impactful, traffic-stopping display. Creating a memorable trade show booth that doesn’t break your bank simply comes down to investing time and some creative energy into your design. We’ve wrangled a few of our favorite tips for creating a truly unique booth space using what you already have.
You Can’t Spell Beautiful Without “Be You”
First thing’s first, do not compare yourself to other companies’ booths. Take a breath, sit down with a steaming cup of Chamomile tea and really think about what makes your company and brand unique. Be inspired by them, sure. But do not imitate or try to match up. Be you.
Take a Look Around – What Do You See?
The most obvious answer to a budget-friendly booth is to use what’s around you. If you sell a physical product, use it as props. Build a display wall out of your product on the perimeter of your booth. If you have a brick and mortar shop, take some shelving or tables from your store and build them into your display design.
Beg, Borrow, Don’t Steal
If you don’t have much in the way of merchandisable fixtures or you don’t have a brick and mortar store front to pull from, reach out to business partners that do. They may be willing to lend or rent you their tables, chairs, shelving and props.
Rent
If you want that big display feel without the big display price, rent it! We at EXHIB-IT! have an extensive collection of used and like-new displays that are available to rent. This option is especially useful for company’s that want to change their look at every trade s how. Or maybe you’re exhibiting at your first trade show and you’re not quite ready to invest. Try before you buy and rent it!
Draw Them in with Freebies
Never underestimate the power of free. Giving away pens, keychains, stickers, samples – really anything – will help to draw people into your booth even if you don’t have a massive display beckoning the throngs on show goers.
Stand Out from the Crowd
If you’re booth is on the minimal side, make sure you and your team stand out from the booth and the crowd. Wear bright colors, dress up to a particular theme, sport light up necklaces or LED name badges. Get creative and– most importantly – have fun with it! Nothing draws customers in like the look of a good time.
Social Media Outreach
If you aren’t on social media, get on social media. It’s important for your business generally and can come especially in handy for your next trade show. Most show’s have a set standard of hashtags that will employ and encourage attendees to use. Jump on that band wagon and get those social media followers. Call out your booth number, entice them with your giveaways and games or offer a prize to anyone that mentions they saw your call-to-action on social media.
There are a number of ways to grab the attention of show goers without a double-decker display, though those do have their place. The biggest takeaway is to be true to your company mission and brand, take the time to plan, ask for help and have fun with it! Do you have any tips and tricks to creating a unique booth experience?
